These Terms and Conditions apply to all tickets, event packages, sporting event tickets, attraction tickets, transport tickets and related services purchased through Marathon Sports Travel (“Marathon Sports Travel”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By submitting an order and completing the payment process, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. General Conditions
Marathon Sports Travel acts as a reseller, distributor, agent or intermediary for event organisers, promoters, sports clubs, venues, ticket distributors, transportation providers and other suppliers.
Tickets and related services are sold subject to these Terms and Conditions together with any terms and conditions imposed by the relevant event organiser, venue, sports club, transportation provider or supplier.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all booking details provided are accurate at the time of purchase.
2. Ticket Sales, Cancellations, Refunds and Changes
All ticket sales are subject to availability and confirmation.
Once an order has been confirmed, tickets cannot normally be cancelled, refunded, exchanged or amended unless expressly permitted by Marathon Sports Travel or the underlying supplier.
All purchases are final unless otherwise stated in writing.
A customer’s inability to attend an event, changes to personal circumstances, travel disruptions, illness, visa issues or booking errors made during the purchasing process shall not entitle the customer to a refund.
Consumer Rights
Under Regulation 13 of the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period for distance sales does not apply to bookings for leisure activities, sporting events, concerts, entertainment events or services provided on a specific date or within a specific period.
Accordingly, customers do not have a statutory right to cancel tickets purchased for such events simply because they change their mind.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects any statutory rights available under Irish consumer protection legislation.
3. Delivery of Tickets and Entry Requirements
Upon completion of purchase, customers will receive either:
- E-tickets;
- Digital vouchers;
- Collection instructions; or
- Confirmation documentation,
containing relevant information including venue details, meeting points, collection procedures, admission requirements and event start times where applicable.
Customers are solely responsible for following all instructions provided.
Failure to do so may result in:
- Refusal of admission;
- Failure to collect tickets;
- Missed transportation departures;
- Missed event entry windows; or
- Loss of associated services.
Marathon Sports Travel accepts no responsibility for losses arising from a customer’s failure to comply with booking instructions.
4. Event Changes, Postponements and Cancellations
Event organisers, clubs, venues and promoters reserve the right to alter, postpone, reschedule or cancel events.
In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, Marathon Sports Travel will make reasonable efforts to notify customers using the contact details supplied at the time of booking.
Notification may be provided by:
- Email;
- Website notices;
- SMS (where applicable); or
- Other reasonable means.
As a ticket distributor, Marathon Sports Travel may only issue refunds or exchanges where authorised by the event organiser, club, venue, promoter or supplier.
Where an event is cancelled and the supplier authorises a refund, the refund will be limited to the face value or amount received by Marathon Sports Travel from the supplier.
Marathon Sports Travel shall not be liable for consequential losses including:
- Travel costs;
- Accommodation costs;
- Subsistence expenses;
- Loss of earnings;
- Insurance costs; or
- Any indirect or consequential losses.
5. Force Majeure
Marathon Sports Travel shall not be liable for failure to perform any obligation where such failure arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather;
- Acts of God;
- Industrial disputes;
- Government restrictions;
- Public health emergencies;
- Terrorism;
- Civil unrest;
- Venue closures;
- Transportation disruptions;
- Supplier failure; or
- Any other force majeure event.
Where suppliers are unable to deliver tickets due to force majeure circumstances, refunds (where available) shall be subject to the policies of the relevant supplier or event organiser.
Any refund shall be limited to the amount actually paid for the affected ticket.
6. Admission and Venue Rules
Admission is always subject to the rules and conditions of the relevant venue, stadium, club, organiser or promoter.
Venues reserve the right to refuse admission or remove individuals who:
- Breach venue rules;
- Breach event conditions;
- Engage in anti-social behaviour;
- Present security concerns;
- Fail to comply with health and safety requirements; or
- Fail to comply with any lawful instruction issued by venue staff.
No refund shall be payable where admission is refused as a result of customer conduct or breach of applicable rules.
7. Event Times
Published event dates and start times are subject to change.
Customers are responsible for verifying event times prior to travel and attendance.
Marathon Sports Travel accepts no responsibility for losses incurred due to changes in event scheduling.
8. Football Match Dates and Kick-Off Times
Football fixtures are frequently amended by leagues, broadcasters, governing bodies and clubs.
When purchasing football tickets, customers are purchasing attendance rights to the fixture irrespective of the final fixture date or kick-off time.
Weekend fixtures may be moved:
- From Saturday to Sunday;
- From Sunday to Saturday;
- To Friday;
- To Monday; or
- To another date entirely.
Midweek fixtures may also be rescheduled.
Customers are advised not to make inflexible travel arrangements until fixture details are formally confirmed.
No refunds shall be available due to fixture rescheduling where the match is played.
Customers are responsible for monitoring fixture information directly with the club, venue or relevant sporting authority.
9. Home Support Seating Policy
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, tickets supplied for football matches are located in the home supporters’ section.
Customers must not:
- Wear visiting team colours;
- Display visiting team banners;
- Engage in behaviour supporting the visiting team within home sections.
Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry or ejection from the stadium.
No refund or compensation shall be payable in such circumstances.
10. Seating Allocation
For bookings involving multiple tickets, Marathon Sports Travel will endeavour to seat customers together whenever possible.
However, particularly in football stadiums and large venues, seating together may include seats:
- Adjacent to one another;
- In front of or behind one another;
- Separated by aisles;
- Within the same block or section.
Specific seating locations cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed.
The venue reserves the right to allocate alternative seats of an equivalent category where operationally necessary.
11. Pricing
Customers are entitled to admission corresponding to the ticket category purchased.
Ticket prices may exceed the face value printed on the ticket due to:
- Booking fees;
- Supplier charges;
- Distribution costs;
- Administration fees;
- Market pricing; and
- Package inclusions.
No refund shall be payable solely because the face value printed on a ticket differs from the purchase price paid.
Unless stated otherwise, all prices displayed include applicable taxes and VAT where relevant.
Prices may change at any time prior to confirmation of purchase.
Once an order is confirmed, the agreed purchase price will not be affected by subsequent price changes.
12. Ticket Resale
Tickets purchased for unauthorised commercial resale, advertising, transfer or ticket touting may be cancelled without refund by the club, venue, organiser or supplier.
Customers must comply with all laws and venue restrictions relating to ticket resale.
13. Travel and Transport Services
Where Marathon Sports Travel sells rail, coach, airport transfer or other transportation tickets, such bookings remain subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant transport provider.
Customers are responsible for checking:
- Timetables;
- Service updates;
- Delays;
- Cancellations; and
- Planned engineering works.
Marathon Sports Travel shall not be responsible for service disruptions arising from decisions or actions of transport providers.
14. Group Bookings
Large group bookings may require manual processing and allocation.
Marathon Sports Travel reserves the right to request additional information or payment verification for group bookings.
Availability for groups cannot be guaranteed until confirmed in writing.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability which cannot be excluded under Irish law.
Subject to the foregoing:
- Marathon Sports Travel’s total liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the customer for the affected booking.
- Marathon Sports Travel shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental losses.
- Marathon Sports Travel shall not be liable for losses arising from actions or omissions of venues, clubs, promoters, organisers or suppliers.

- The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”);
